Seven Months Old
Kellen is now seven months old - closer to one year old than newborn. This month’s post is all about food. We definitely have an eater.
Finally, Something Other Than Formula
Just after his six-month birthday, we started Kellen on solid foods… well, baby food. Initially, he wasn’t quite sure what to think (first three photos below) - we started him on sweet potatoes - but he got the hang of it pretty quick (fourth photo below).
Although he never protested, it was apparent he didn’t love everything he tried.
Of course, we had to try the airplane method. Worked like a charm.
Having tried several different kinds of food, it seems like he looks forward to eating solids now. After being on formula for six months, I would too.
He seems to be teething as well, so anytime there’s not something already in his mouth, his hands eventually make their way there.
Uhhh…
I don’t really have anything to write about this photo (below), but it’s one of my favorites from this past month, so I had to include it.
More Artwork
With the help of his teachers at daycare, Kellen is becoming quite the artist. We even got some Halloween-themed artwork this time. We’ve started giving some of it to his grandparents and what not - after we get a photo for our records, of course.
Holding His Own
Over the past month, Kellen has gotten good enough at holding his bottle that he can now, for the most part, feed himself. Aimee and I have found this to be a fantastic skill for him to have while we’re getting ready for work in the morning.
After eating, he likes to entertain himself in his exer-saucer. Our morning routine has gotten pretty efficient… for now, anyway.
Gerber Photo Contest
Like most parents, we think our baby is the cutest baby on the planet, so naturally, we decided to enter him in Gerber’s annual photo contest. If you care to vote for him, you can do so by going to Gerber’s Photo Search 2014 website. You can search for him by name and city (Kellen and Richmond) or entry ID (348458) and vote as often as once per day up until December 14.
